You must see the 19th-century Neo-Romanesque Jewish synagogue for its unusual Moorish-style interior features.
The former synagogue from 1868, later renovated by Viennese architect Max Fleischer in the 1880s, served only as a storage space after World War II – its original beauty was finally restored during a major reconstruction between 1997 and 1999.
Today, this reminder of the vanished Jewish community in Břeclav is a protected cultural monument and venue for exhibitions and cultural events. Definitely worth a visit for its unique Moorish-style interior.
The building hosts a permanent exhibition of Jewish history in Břeclav. You can also visit one of the current temporary exhibitions.
